I have been reading HG-SS fan-fiction like crazy for more than a year now, ever since I devoured the six published books last September.
I have a big story running around in my head, with several chapters in the middle written on scattered parchments on my hard drive, but...
I am not a native speaker of English and it shows. I've been told that "that's what betas are for", but I think that no ordinary beta can be expected to do what I need done. I am a professional translator and I have seen my into-English translations betaed by an ordinary editor and I have seen the same text recycled by an interested and talented writer. Unrecognizable.
So, I know that my English is not good enough and I need very good help there.
I have no idea if my storytelling is worth the trouble. How, oh, how can I find that out?
I have been following the WIKTT mailing list. I visited several Saturday chats. That's where I got some information about LJ community of HGSS.
I am looking for people who might understand my problems and help me see my situation more objectively.
